The abuse I went through had nothing to do with me, or with anything I did or said.

There was nothing I could have done to help myself back then.

I can only change myself, and no one else but me.

My pain depends only on me, just as my happiness depends only on me.

I deserve to be happy and healthy.

I can't change the past, but I can absolutely change the present and be optimistic about the future.

I am entitled to live a full life of joy.

I deserve love, because of and thanks to who I am.

I am who I am today because of and thanks to what I went through — without it, I wouldn't be who I am today.

I commit to loving myself, with all my physical and emotional strengths and flaws. I commit to accepting myself as I am — not judging, not criticizing, and being compassionate and accepting toward myself.
